It is located near the eastern end of the southern border of the courtyard of the Rock, located in the heart of Al-Aqsa Mosque. It was established during the Fatimid era in the year 412 AH-1021 AD, and it was renewed during the Ayyubid era in the year 608 AH-1211 AD.

It consists of two great knees at the ends, and two cylindrical marble columns in the middle. Its stone staircase has 19 steps, and its height ranges between 6.5 and 7 meters.

Between this pillar and the southern pillar on the perimeter of the nave of the rock, there is a stone carved inside the stone wall in the form of a mihrab. The construction, but it is likely that it was built during the Ottoman period when the rock was paved.
