The Southwestern Arches
It is located on the western perimeter of the courtyard of the Rock on its southern side, and its construction dates back to 877 AH - 1472 AD, that is, during the reign of Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaytbay, and it is thus the last of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque buildings.
It consists of two great knees at the ends and two columns of marble in the middle. Its height is 7 meters, and a stone staircase of 24 steps leads to it.
In the northern wall of the northern knee, there is a small mihrab whose inscription probably dates back to the Ottoman era.
