The Eastern Arches
It is the only arcade on its side on the eastern border of the courtyard of the rock located in the middle of Al-Aqsa Mosque. It was probably established during the Umayyad era, and was rebuilt in the Abbasid era, during the fourth century AH (the tenth century AD).
It is the largest of the gates located around the nave of the rock, as it consists of two great knees and four cylindrical marble columns. It connects the eastern courtyard of the mosque to the courtyard of the rock by 22 steps and three other steps, and its height is 6.5 m.
