It is also called Al-Sultaniya. It was built by Prince Hassan Al Dhaheri in the year 875 AH - 1470 AD. However, Sultan Qaytbay did not like the building when he saw it during his visit to Jerusalem, so he demolished it and rebuilt it in the year 885 AH - 1480 AD.
