Wells
The squares of the blessed Al-Aqsa include about 26 full wells, in which there is enough water for the residents of the Old City of Jerusalem and not just for the worshippers who come to Al-Aqsa.
These wells are distributed between the honorable Rock Bowl in the heart of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the rest of the Al-Aqsa squares, where there are eight of them above the Rock Bowl and the rest in the surrounding squares.
The well of the minaret of the door of the tribes
This well was seven meters long, four wide and six deep, and its walls were built of stone.
The well of the treacherous school
These two wells are built in front of the ghadiriya school in the form of a rectangle, they have two upper openings, and their roof is carried by four huge supports, together 19 meters long and 17 meters wide, and their depth has reached 14 meters.the roof was built in the form of arches, some of which were signed in 1874 and then restored.
Bab Hatta well
This well is located south of the Bab Hatta sanitizer on the border of the terrace, and it is small in size.
The north-eastern weeping well
It is located under the entrance to the north-eastern wailing, it is two rooms, the length of which is 22 meters.
The well of the price school
This well is located on the border of the wall of the Al-Aqsa mosque west of the King Faisal gate under the asaardian madrasa, which is small in size and carved into the rock.
The well of Al-ghawanmeh
This well is located east of the Bab al-ghawanmeh minaret, adjacent to the wall of the madrasas in its North, and it is round in shape and small in size.
The well of the caretaker's door
This well is located near the door of the caretaker at the corner of the portico of the Don madrasa Al-manjaki (today's circle of Endowments) Northeast, it is of medium size, round in shape, three meters long, two meters wide and 11.5 meters deep.
Ibrahim Rumi's well
This well is located north of the caretaker's door along the western corridor, and it is a large water complex, reaching a depth of 11 meters with irregular sides, and looks like a dome carved in the Rock, its construction dates back to 1935-1936.
Sha'lan Chapel well
This well is located in a corner to the west of the Northern Rock Bowl, adjacent to a chapel, a way and the terrace of Shaalan, and it is round in shape, with a diameter of three meters and a depth of 11 meters.
The well of the two Western and Northern Wells
This well is located at the tip of the terrace located between the two Western and Northern wells closer to the central one, and it is round in shape and small in size.
The well of the qaytbay well
This well is located under the qaytbay pass even under the Western Portico, elongated and a little wide, it is 28 meters long, six meters wide and 11.5 meters deep.
A well east of Bab al-Maghriba
This well is located just east of the Mughrabi Gate, and is considered an entrance from the door to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and it is cut out of the area of the Mughrabi mosque without the squares of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
West Cup well
This well is located west of the Cup with its alignment, it is of medium size, rectangular in shape.
The well south of the two southern Wells
This well is located south of the two southern wells east of the cup, it has a mouth east of the cup terrace and adjacent to it, and its length is ten meters, width is six, and its depth is twenty meters.
The well east of the mosque of Omar
This well is located east of the Omar Mosque, it has a visible mouth near the warehouses, and the well is a long one that extends outside the walls of the mosque and the city. Its length is 33 meters, its width is nine meters, and its depth is 16 meters.
Leaf well
This well is located east of the portico of the Al-Aqsa mosque building, and it is mentioned in books with strange stories. It has a length of 18 meters and a depth of 13 meters, to which pipes with a diameter of 1.6 M were connected.
The north-east well of the eastern weeping
This well is located northeast of the eastern well and is of a certain geometric shape, its sterility is 14 meters, and it has a barrel-shaped roof.
The North-West Well of the eastern weeping
It is located north of the former well by its alignment, its shape is regular and has a depth of ten meters.
A well north of the eastern well
It is located north of the eastern courtyard, north of the teachers ' room, and extends with a part running under the Rock Bowl. Its length is 23 meters, width is three meters, depth is eight meters.
A well west of the door of repentance
This well is located west of the gates of repentance and mercy, with a deviation going towards the North. It is cylindrical in shape, has a diameter of six meters and a depth of 11 meters.
A well between the northern and Western wells and the dome of the rock
This well is located in the Rock Bowl between the northern and Western Baqa'a and the dome of the rock and its crater is visible. The well is rectangular in shape, forty meters long, seven meters wide and five and a half meters deep, built by low-rise arches, the well is enclosed by walls.
The well west of the dome of spirits
It is located in the Rock Bowl southwest of the dome of the spirits, it is 12 meters long, eight meters wide, ten meters deep, the well has two upper holes.
Bir El Khalili
This well is located in the Rock Bowl just east of the Office of the reconstruction committee, it is small in size, more like a storeroom, irregular and has an Eastern depth of two and a half meters. It was called by this name because it is located next to the Al-Khalili Dome.
The well of the north of the Midwestern wailing
This well is located north of the tip of the Central Western wailing, it has a visible crater and near it a large stone bowl that was filled with water to drink from, and the well is semi-cylindrical and has a depth of 15 meters.
The pomegranate well
This elongated well is located in the corner of the southeastern Rock Bowl, it is long and reaches below the low square of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Its length reaches 35 meters, its width is minimal, it does not exceed four meters in width, and its depth reaches 16 meters.
A well northwest of the Rock Bowl
This well is located northwest of the previous one next to it, its length is 18 meters, width is 15 meters, depth is 15.5 meters.
Ablution near the tribal mosque
It is located west of the Cup in the middle of a wide terrace, it has no known specific name and therefore it was called "ablution" only.
It consists of 18 water taps in one row, easy to use because of its proximity to the building of the tribal mosque for those who usually wanted to do ablution.
South of the grammatical Dome
A large Madinah with 35 water taps and in front of it a number of marble chairs used by people when performing ablution, which is new, as it was established by the Islamic Awqaf Department in the late twentieth century.
